Ok, so this isn’t a carnival or theme park trip report but since it’s the off-season it’s the best I have right now in terms of trip reports. I decided to head into New York City on Saturday, January 5th to pretty much just walk around and play tourist. I love the city during the holidays so I wanted to get in before all the decorations were taken down and such.

ztn_dod3dSo I loaded up the site today and it looks better! I don’t know what the hell happened! Actually, I decided to do what I’ve been putting off for a while: re-do the layout and backend a bit. The previous layout started to look pretty dated and the backend coding/plugin situation was akin to Frankenstein’s monster.

Let’s take the time to reminisce about past Domain of Death incarnations.

Trip Report: Dorney Park 10/27/2012

With the clouds of Sandy overspreading the area I took my final amusement park trip of the season on the 27th of October…yes, I’ve been sitting on the trip report for that long folks! I was originally planning on going Sunday, the 28th, but decided that was cutting it too close. Last year I drove back from Six Flags in a brutal snowstorm and I wasn’t feeling like driving in wind and rain in the event the storm sped up and hit early or some other crazy shit.

Superstorm Sandy

On the weekend of October 20th I visited the boardwalk of Seaside Heights, NJ. I drove across the Mantaloking bridge and down the barrier islands on route 35. It’s one of my favorite drives during the fall and winter when the crowds wane and the background noise consists of waves crashing and not much else. The boardwalk on the 20th was actually pretty crowded, it was about 70 degrees after all. I walked the boardwalk in only a t-shirt and shorts and watched the surfers, played some skee-ball at the Funtown arcade and just enjoyed a place I’ve been visiting since I was a kid.

Less than two weeks later it was all gone.
